911 DISPATCHER /CORRECTIONS OFFICER

The Allamakee county Sheriff's Office is seeking applications for a full-time Dispatcher/Corrections Officer. This position will involve cross training in dispatching and corrections. Duties include interpreting, prioritizing and dispatching sheriff's deputies, city police, and fire departments , ambulances to emergency and non-emergency calls throughout the county. Other duties include care, safety and security of prisoners confined in the county jail. This position is for nights, every other weekend and holidays, 6 pm to 6 am. Shift differential and earned time off or holiday pay apply.

The E911 Dispatcher/Corrections Officer shall have the ability to speak clearly and act effectively in emergency situations and interact in a courteous and professional manner with staff, inmates and the general public.

Benefits: Employer paid health insurance, cafeteria plan, paid vacation after one year, and Iowa Public Employees' Retirement System benefits. Starting hourly wage $17.35/hr.
